Drive to San Francisco and Day 47
Tuesday, January 07, 2020
Today was a good day overall. I drove to San Francisco for a business meeting. This was my first drive there for a business meeting since I had a seizure there last time about 15 months ago. As I left, my wife said, "NO SEIZURES ON THIS TRIP!" I was happy to comply with her demand :).
Unfortunately, I shared this news with the person I met and he asked me a bunch of questions because he has a family member with a brain tumor who is facing the decision of radiation or surgery with possible complications for either choice.
I again feel so blessed that everything went so well with me. I've heard from so many people about others where this was not the case.
My new streak 10+ fitness minutes streak continues to go well -- today is Day 47. Here's what I shared via email today with a SP member who is getting ready to start her streak:
Thanks a bunch, Julie! I really appreciate all of your thoughts and support. Yes, we’re a great team. I love doing my best to help people. Not having as much energy to do that as much has been a frustrating part of my recovery, but at the same time it’s a really interesting experience to share with people including living our program again myself. I think after the 1 year of recovery plus this new streak, I have a chance to be in the best health of my life with tons of extra energy, so that’s how I’ll look at this challenge for 2020 :).
That is such a hard lesson to learn on the consistency benefits [of things like a 10+ fitness minutes streak]. I’m now really looking forward to Day 100 because I know that’s often when I start to hit the tipping point.
I hope all of your had a great first week of 2020!
