A "Sunny" day

Friday, January 10, 2020

My dog sitting was also g-kid sitting Friday morning. The middle one had a belly ache and headache. LOL, I wasn't so sure maybe it was "doggittis" and he wanted to be with the new dog but nah, he spent some quality time praying to the porcelain gods!

It was over and done and he swore he felt fine.

Sunny is a big girl. I'm used to small dogs, Oscar my mini-dachshund and Chewy the 9 pound Shiz-tzu, so a full-sized beagle seems large. She's solid as a rock. Sooooooo gentle. She sheds. She snores through that great snout. Her tail wags a slow roll which is good because there's weight to that wagger! Did I mention she sheds? She also smells like a dog, something I didn't have with my previous dogs. She'll be fun when she's wet!

She's a trained therapy dog who used to visit a senior home where her first owner worked. Her second owner welcomed Sunny as an emotional support dog for her child and took her to her job at a local college where she became the best friend of new, homesick students. Unfortunately the owners child developed asthma and they can't keep her.
Did I mention she sheds?

This is a week-long experiment to see if she helps with the boys.

Seeing my daughter on the floor, grinning from ear to ear, Sunny draped across her black yoga pants-covered legs coated with white dog hair I think someone has already been helped!

They come first … I come first after them.

So exciting!! The great thing about beagles (and bassets too, of which we have had two) is that no matter what you are wearing, the dog hair shows up!! White pants, the black hair decorates: black pants, the white hair decorates: and for everything else there's BROWN!!

I thiknk I like Mirticia's assessment! LOL. I had a small yorkie/poodle mix and she's right. Smart as a whip, too.

There's something about the way worry flies out the door when a canine walks in and captures a heart!

Hope things work out. Sounds like they are "sunny side up?"

Our beagle sheds more than any dog we've ever had. She's the sweetest dog and the most well behaved we've ever had too though.

Our daughter is dog-sitting a very nice yellow lab. He is even bigger than her two labs. We are wondering how the 3 will get along for the week Spenser's mistress is on a cruise.

LOL. Nothing worse that a sick kid. Well................... maybe a stinky beagle but who's counting. Sunny has certainly been passed around. If I were her I would be a little paranoid and I would bathe more. How old is she in people years? 110? Shedding isn't that bad.....sort of.. My hubby sheds worse than a chow and I've had him since 1982. You get used to everything being hairy. I like tiny dogs though because they produce tiny turds. Chihuahuas are great. There is not much of them to stink. Not much hair to shed. They're mean but then so am I. emoticon
