11 Days into the New Year

Saturday, January 11, 2020

We're into the first 11 days of the new year and I know many have jumped onto the weight loss train with plenty of hopes and dreams. Sadly, by March, about 65% will be ready to call it quits because they haven't lost X amount of weight, so they feel they've failed. They don't stop to think about the fact they didn't gain the weight overnight, and won't lose it overnight either. Sometimes it takes much longer than expected to change the habits to get healthier.
I know for me, on April 14-2017 I weighed 274 lbs. At my last weigh in on Jan. 2nd-2020, I weighed in at 233 lbs. That's only 41 lbs. lost in 2.75 years. A lot of people would have given up completely if they were losing that slowly, and to be honest, at times I have felt the same way. A few times I've needed to put things on the back burner, but I keep pushing thru, and I'm determined to get the rest of the weight off that I feel I need to lose, no matter how long it takes. Each day that I'm alive is another chance to eat healthier and make the best choices I possibly can. Not everyday will be perfect. But I'll do the best I can. The important thing is to not give up and I'm just too stubburn to do that. And I hope anyone reading this will keep at it and not give up on themselves.
Take it one day at a time, one meal at a time, if need be. But don't give up. Know you're worth the efort and over time you'll be amazed over all you've managed to do. Just make small changes and stay consistant, and over time it will surely pay off. Treat yourself with kindness and love, as you would your best friend, because you ARE your best friend, when all is said and done. Be good to yourself.
