Why do I want to be healthy?
Sunday, January 12, 2020
This is the SparkCoach topic of the day. Reasons I want to be healthy:
1. To reduce the risk of heart disease and joint pain as I get older. I have a family history of high blood pressure, breast cancer, osteoporosis, and other serious health concerns. Seeing my mother's health deteriorate over the past several months has been a real wake-up call. I'm genetically disposed to some of the problems, sure, but by being healthier I may be able to avoid or ameliorate some of them, or at least have more fortitude to get through them.
2. To not feel old before my time. I'm 58 and sometimes I feel like an old lady, with joint pain and blood pressure pills. I see plenty of people older than I am who seem younger, and I want to feel younger, too. I want to be able to hike and backpack without getting winded or achy.
3. To feel better in my clothes. I was in smaller sizes a few years ago and I felt really good about my appearance, and I want to get back to that point.
