Goals & Gratitude 1/17/20

I was so tired last night. I was trying to Spark, but at 5:45 pm I gave up. I took a shower and went to bed. I read for a while but was asleep by 8 pm and slept through the night. I feel much better today. I didn't sleep good two nights ago because I was so worried about taking Tang to the vet's. I know they hate going and I always worry about getting them in the carrier. Tang was honestly so surprised that he was going (and not another cat) that he got into the carrier pretty quickly. He cried the whole way there, and then hissed and spit at the vet, the vet tech, and me. It took two of us to get him out of his carrier. I think his thought process was, "If I stay in here, they can't do anything to me." Little did he know! The vet says he most likely doesn't have asthma as it usually develops when cats are young and gets worse over time. But he might have some allergies. She said he was very congested in his nose. So he is on steroids for 10 days now to see if that clears it up. I bought more pill pockets. He almost wouldn't eat it with the pill, but I kept talking to him and showing him the treat and he decided it was okay to eat. Felix also wanted one so he got a pill pocket sans pill too. I may have to buy more!

Because of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Monday, my teacher has extended our deadlines for the work into next week. That gives me a nice mini-holiday. Peter is visiting me this weekend, so I don't have to worry about getting homework done while he is here. I will finish up what I haven't finished on Monday and Tuesday.

I have a question for everyone. Does anyone have a stretching routine that they would suggest? I need to start stretching in the evenings as I am finding myself stiff after doing my workout for the day, but I don't really know what stretches I should be doing. Any advice?

I made lentil, carrot, and potato soup for dinner in the crock pot today. About to go have a bowl. It smells really good so I hope it tastes good!

Today I'm Grateful For...
1) That I slept good last night.
2) That Tang doesn't have asthma.
3) That my teacher extended our deadlines.

    Poor Tang, but I'm glad it is not asthma. Enjoy your weekend with Peter. I do stretch, but I can't describe it and wish I could. Look here on Spark People and you will find some good ones.

    Glad you got Tang checked out. Hopefully Tang respond to the treatment I tried stretches with a resistance band from my physical therapist before and that helped me.

    I am glad that there is nothing too seriously wrong with Tang. Poor baby! You needed that good sleep to get over the stress of it all. Hope you have a wonderful time with Peter. Your soup sounds so good!

    I always got stressed out over vet visits. Tied me into knots. I just googled "recommended stretching exercises" and tons came up. I think I'll look at some of them also. I need to stretch. Have a good weekend. (happy to hear Tang doesn't have asthma)
