One minute sailing along, the next minute flat on one's back. Quick check before moving, all body parts in moving order but pain, a lot of pain. I slammed down on my replacement hip; total metal so it's not broken or dislocated so I can only assume that I have torn muscles in my groin. Now I hobble with my cane that I used when recovering from my hip surgery 10 years ago and hug my heating pad after dosing with ibuprofen. No way will I venture to the ER, it's full of folks battling the flu. The bright side? This is the last January 18 that I will be living up here alone on South Mountain above Gaspereau, NS! Next winter someone else will deal with the ice and snow here and I will enjoy having someone else clear my sidewalk and driveway for me. Now off to get flat for a wee while.
