Three Weeks Into January, How Are You Doing?

I got an email from WW the other day that was saying January 17th is the date most people give up on their New Year's Resolution.

But why?

For some, maybe the goal they set was too high for them. Some people can get 10,000 steps a day. Some people can get to the gym 5 times a week. Some people can track all their food.

But if you can't, that doesn't mean you should quit. It means you should adjust.

If you made a goal for yourself and you find yourself constantly disappointed at not meeting that goal, that means you should reevaluate your goal. Was it reasonable? Did you expect to start running 3 miles a day when you hadn't run 3 miles in the past month? Were you taking into account all the things going on in your life, like travel, work and family responsibilities etc?

If not, let's set a new goal. Let's work on something you can accomplish for the last 10 days in January. And then lets work on the first week of February. And then the second.

I believe the more reasonable and reachable goals you set, the more likely you are to achieve and set more. Don't set yourself up to fail.

As for me, I'm going to work on cutting down on my fast food intake. Even when I'm buying "healthy" food like grilled chicken nuggets from Chik-fil-a, I'm still spending more money than I should especially when I have plenty of good food at home in my fridge. I need to work on not going for convenience so much. If I meal prepped more, grabbing food out of my fridge would be just as a convenient.

I got an Instant Pot for Christmas and I've already made three separate meals in it, and I love it! The latest was Sweet Potato Chili, and before that it was Creamy Chicken Pasta. Both made plenty for leftovers which I've been eating all week.

And I can't forget about Henry. You guys always love seeing pics of him. So here are a few to brighten your day.

While it can be hard for me to see myself in photos these days, compared to when I was much healthier, I still like remembering how happy I am with my family and life, regardless of my weight.

I hope you guys have a good week.
