Two Sick Kids
Tuesday, January 21, 2020
I did oatmeal and banana for breakfast yesterday and the day before, but today I had oven toast with cinnamon and sugar
Ryan got sick on Sunday. Yesterday was Martin Luther King Jr Day, so both were home. Aiden woke up with a fever this morning. So both of them are home today. That makes helping my stepdad more complicated because he doesn't need to be sick for sure. I'm hoping I don't get it
Whenever someone is sick, I end up running around like a chicken with my head cut off if there is added responsibility, such as my nieces being here or now taking care of my stepdad. Running back and forth is more work and trying to keep germ sharing to a minimum is extra work too.
I am (hopefully) gaining some kind of grip on my anxiety. I'm learning to catch myself before my body "fully" reacts to stress and just PAUSE, say a prayer, or focus on the next step only. For example, I got out of the shower today and was like I gotta do this, this, and this. I stopped myself... okay, first dry off. Did that. Next get shirt on, etc. I was still anxious but at least it was more manageable.
I am also using the YouVersion Bible app with an anxiety to peace devotional plan, which is helping. I saved a few other anxiety plans on there because each one is 3-5 days long.
