National Clean Off Your Desk Day
Wednesday, January 22, 2020
This week for the A&I Buddy Support Group Challenge we were asked to blog about National Use Your Gift Card Day or National Clean off Your Desk Day or about a topic we would prefer to talk about. I chose the 2nd option.
The second Monday of January each year recognizes National Clean Off Your Desk Day. This day is an opportunity to begin your new year with a clean and organized work space. Whether your desk is in a private or shared office, cubicle, home or a make-shift desk on the counter, having your work space uncluttered, organized, refreshed and clean will help you work more efficiently and give you a sense of serenity. What do you keep on your desk? Do you need to clean it off?
I'm doing much better this year in terms of clutter on my desk. That's partly in due to changing my desk (a.k.a. long white folding table) out for a smaller one. I didn't realize it was smaller at first. I wanted a table that I could adjust the height on because I'm short and the normal long folding white table is a bit too tall. I can adjust my chair but then my feet aren't completely flat on the floor like they should be to keep my back from hurting. There isn't enough room for me to have my laptop, separate keyboard, big monitor and speakers on my desk along with a bunch of clutter. I have some papers I need to go through and a few other things but for the most part my desk is pretty much without clutter.
