Advice

Friday, January 24, 2020

Read somewhere that every time an old person dies a library dies with them, thought it so very true, now I feel sad I did not ask my parents or grandparents for more of their stories. Another is Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools & accepted by idiots. No comments here. Last but not the least one is to forgive people in our lives, even those who are not at all sorry for their actions. Holding onto anger will only hurt me, NOT them. This was all from facebook posts. I can understand the last one well. I think its better just to avoid them.

I had much information about my grands and previous generations. But, I'm older than a LOT of sparkers!

    That is pretty good advice!
I wished I had asked more questions of my parents, Grandparents, aunts, and Uncles. So many unanswered subjects that pop up in my head. A diary is something to hand down to our children/family and hopefully they are interested enough to read and perhaps start a diary of their own to hand down

So many good thoughts in your blog. Start writing your own stories down to pass on to other generations. I wish I had written more of my parents and grandparents stories down while the details were fresh.
We forgive people so we don't have to carry all that negative baggage around. It breaks the power to hurt us over and over if we can let go of it. The more we repeat the telling of past offenses against us, the more we hurt.

I wish I'd gotten to know my maternal grandmother better, but she died young (I think I was maybe 4) and she was in her 60's but had all kinds of health problems. Learning your family's stories is indeed a treasure!
