I went to our librarian's retirement party. She going to foster greyhounds full time now. She brought the ones she's fostering now to the party. We had cake and stuff. It was a nice if sad time. I stopped off at the store on my way home to replenish my vitamin shelf. I need to fill the gas tank tomorrow so I can go to my retiree chapter union meeting on Saturday. We will be discussing Moscow Mitch and his blocking of lots of bills sent from the House. Mainly we'll be talking about the nearly 20 bills that might change something on Social Security. I know why he's blocking those bills. He'd rather cancel Social Security and leave those of us who receive it to be bankrupt, homeless and starving. Sorry to be politicking here, but it bugs me when politicians who won't miss the program if it wasn't there tell me I'm a taker and living on the public when I paid into the program my entire working life.

I agree! I fume every time I hear one of them use the word entitlement. Like you, I paid into social security my adult life. The same with medicare. When I sub, they still take medicare from my wages. I could easily post a rant here. I'll stop. Hope you have a productive meeting on Saturday.
