The past three days? Weather Wimp has won out.
First, on Wednesday afternoon, ALICIA363 offered a phone call instead of our usual after-her-workday walk. I accepted. Chipping at the ice on my sidewalk during the afternoon before that call, at least a bit. So I guess there was a partial appearance of Pioneer Woman for some of the day.
Then on Thursday, I put one foot out on my driveway on the way to go work out with the coach, saw how thick the snow was coming down, and texted him that no, I was not coming that day! After the flakes stopped falling, I shoveled a path down the driveway to the mailbox, finding the layer of ice beneath it, and scraped off the snow that had fallen over the top of where I had chipped ice the day before. But the flakes weren't done with us yet.
This morning, I woke to a fresh thin layer of snow atop the ice. Again scraped off the top layer at least a path down the driveway, but again chose to leave texture of the snow rather than expose the layer of ice (it's about half an inch thick, for those of you keeping score), then came back inside. Weather Wimp takes today's round, too.
Guess in a way, I'm storing up solitude for when I will HAVE to get out and about next week, when the non-Sparking sis again takes off, this time to help the other daughter, the one in Utah. So I'll be having to get over to her house every day for a week. Fortunately, the drive to her house, except for about six blocks of six streets (three on my end, three on hers) is major arteries, which are cleared better.
So... yeah, even though I haven't been blogging, I'm still breathing.
Here's hoping my Spark buds are staying safe and warm (and dry?) in their own little corners of our world, making good choices to support our individual health and well-being, physical, mental, and spiritual, this one and only Friday, January 24, 2020 we shall ever see!
