Let Go of Comparison
Monday, January 27, 2020
Thank you @PELESJEWEL for the important reminder yesterday to avoid comparison as much as we can...
I found real, true happiness when I stopped comparing myself to others. I finally came to a realization that comparison wasn’t getting me anywhere, and over time, it became too exhausting, so one day I had enough and just stopped. I stopped comparing, and after awhile it became like second nature to me because I was ready for this change. I began giving my energy to other, healthier things, like focusing on only myself and MY goals and ambitions. I stopped worrying about who I thought looked better than me. I simply didn’t care anymore... because my full focus was now on ME. I stopped making it about everyone else. I mattered, too. It was my time to be happy again.
When I stopped comparing, I gained this incredible confidence. Letting that part of me go has given me the opportunity to work on myself and get to know myself better. I’ve fallen in love with myself, but not only for the way I look. I’ve become my own best friend. Comparison no longer has a place in my life, I’ve left it in the past and it isn’t welcome anymore.
If you ever find yourself doubting yourself or comparing yourself to someone else, remind yourself that you, are just as good as anyone else! Own it. Embrace it!
