Pittsburgh Trip – January 4 – January 6, 2020

I am finally getting around to writing about my trip to Pittsburgh. It was awesome!
We rented a car and hit the road at 6:30 AM. Traffic was not a problem but it was foggy and a little rainy. Once we got to Pittsburgh (around noon) our first stop was to the Carnegie Science Museum. We spent a few hours exploring the museum and unwinding from our long car ride.

We arrived at the hotel around 4 PM, unpacked, checked out the pool and ordered pizza for dinner.
The next day we went to the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium. Our main reason for going (in the winter) was to see the Penguin Parade….and let me tell you…..it was worth every frozen bit of my body to see those cuties walking right past us. There were not many animals on display but the Aquarium was amazing and heated (lol).
That night was the hockey game (the main purpose for going to Pittsburgh). The game started at 5PM and we got there at 4PM --- did I mention the hotel we stayed at was RIGHT next to the hockey arena! The experience was AWESOME. We did not get to walk around the arena much because we were more interested in watching the game. The Penguins lost but it was still awesome!
We are Ready for the Game!

On the way home we took a detour to Punxsutawney, PA to see Phil the Groundhog! It was fun little detour.
We got home about 6 PM on Monday, returned the car, unpacked and relaxed until I had to get up Tuesday AM to go back to work and reality.
It was the perfect way to start the new year and a new decade. Looking forward to a happy, healthy and enjoyable 2020!
