Day 6

Saturday, February 01, 2020

Went back to work yesterday for a partial day. My official boss, who works in a different building and rarely comes to where I am, came to the middle school yesterday. She wanted to find out what exactly I do, how I use the computer program that we’ve been using since 2914, etc. she also asked me to reconsider retiring “just for one more year.” I told her no. Then she wondered if I would work after school and tutor a high school student every night for an hour or so in algebra. Nope to that one too. The 8th grade teacher is worried about our math program and the help I have offered to students for such a long time and I told my boss that. I know it will be different for them but I am so very ready to go. Seventeen more weeks.

DH and I walked to mall this morning. If we do a lap thru Target, Kohl’s, and TJ Maxx in addition to the length of the mall it is 1-1/2 miles. So we did 2 laps today. I checked my Fitbit afterward and sure enough it was a few steps over the mark. I was pretty happy. It’s warm and dry there and I don’t have to worry about slipping on ice and falling like I did a couple years ago. We have plans to repeat the mall walk again Sunday and then back to the Y Center for me on Monday.

And in other news - I’m down another pound. DH is afraid to step on his scale in case it found him instead emoticon

    Awesome about the weight loss.

The nagging from administration will worsen as it gets closer to the end of the year. Been there...done that.
I told no one I was leaving until the last teacher workday when I handed my resignation letter to the superintendent. It seems we get little to no support until they realize how difficult it will be to fill our position. Too little...too late.

    Happy Sunday! Keep moving.
