Logging Food

Saturday, February 08, 2020

The expectation from any type of eating plan it seems, is logging food. Why do I struggle with this? Is it because I try to do it in real time? Is it because it feels like one more chore? I understand the benefits..see where the problems are, keep myself accountable...but I still struggle with doing this more than a day or two. I am going to start again today. I still have 5 weeks of recovery from knee surgery so maybe the extra time will help me develop this habit. I know I won’t be perfect, but this perfectionist is going to forgive myself. Even though I haven’t fully started changing my eating and exercise yet , logging starts today.

I had a hard time logging my food also till I switched to doing a daily plan. Each morning I sit down and do my menu for the day. This helps me in many different ways, 1: making sure I have a balanced diet. 2: keeping my calorie count within limits. 3: helps by telling myself what I will eat and not to vary away from my plan. In time you build up your favorites and groupings and this makes it easier also. Hang in there it will get easier. emoticon

It gets easier the more you do it imo but it’s not my favorite thing either but I make myself do it.

I usually try to log two meals in the morning and then that last one after dinner. I also eat a lot of the same stuff so that makes it easier because I copy/paste. Breakfast is almost always the same. Dinner one night is lunch the next day.
