What do I expect from the changes I am making?

I expect to lose weight, although a specific number is not my goal. If I make changes to the way I eat and add exercise, I can't help but lose weight. My starting goal is 10% of my original weight (315 lbs) or 32 pounds. That will put me at 283, a number I haven't seen in years. When I get there, I'll see about setting another weight loss goal.

I expect better sleep. I sleep pretty well now, rarely have problems falling asleep or waking a lot during the night. With regular exercise, I expect my overall sleep to be deeper and better.

I expect to get my diabetes under control. It is still strange for me to say I have diabetes, and even stranger to think I will be diabetic for the rest of my life, whether I have symptoms or not. However, I can control it with a healthy diet and exercise.

I would love to eliminate at least some of my medications. I may be able to lower, or even eliminate my depression med. I have the same hope for high blood pressure meds and maybe also cholesterol.

I expect to have better stamina, to be able to walk for longer periods of time.
