Week #4 - Changes
Saturday, February 15, 2020
I am beginning to see changes in my attitude and my lifestyle here at week 4 of cutting down on alcohol.
I want to do more things and I am doing them. On Sunday, my daughter and I attended a wine glass painting class that was a lot of fun. I know it seems counterproductive, but I was so involved in painting the glasses that I only had one glass of wine. However, I never would have agreed to go and even try a class like that a few weeks ago. On Thursday evening, my husband and I went to see a community theater production. I would have never gone out on a school night before. I never had the energy after teaching all day.
Another change I have noticed is that I am constantly dancing around the house! If there is music on, I am dancing! So, feeling better makes me want to dance and dancing makes me feel happy. What a win-win cycle!
In the meantime, I have finally carved out a convenient time in my new school schedule to get in a short walk each day. I head out of my classroom at 1:30. I can get in one quick lap around the campus before whatever afternoon duty I have to do after school.
I am eating more carbs than I like right now. It seems that I am craving them. But, I am maintaining my weight. Maybe that's why I have the energy for all that dancing!
