Monday - back to normal!
Monday, February 17, 2020
Went back to work today and am feeling a lot better. It was an early dismissal for the kids and after they left, we had a Faculty Senate meeting and then could work in our rooms.
I started calling parents to remind them of their kid's IEP meetings and had one parent want to reschedule the meeting for a week earlier than originally planned. When I looked at my calendar, I realized that meant I needed to turn it in to the board office for review a week earlier than I planned - TODAY was actually when it was due! I hustled and got it finished before I left the building. Whew! This is a new hoop we have to jump through so I really didn't want to be late on the first IEP since the new rule was put in place.
Overall, the day went well and all the kids had a good day. Everything was back to normal or as close to normal as my class ever gets!
I am blessed to be feeling a bit better and that things are back to normal!
My friend's daughter has continued to be in very critical shape - she coded twice yesterday - the first time her heart restarted quickly but the second time it took nearly 30 minutes to restart her heart. They had to put her back into an induced coma and paralysis and don't hold out much hope for recovery. Yesterday another friend's 4 year old daughter was found unconscious and when they took her to the hospital, they discovered a massive brain tumor. They will operate later this week and hope to remove the entire tumor and will know then if it is malignant or not. Prayers needed for 4 year old Bella.
Count your blessings and recognize how blessed we are!
