Strawberry Park Hot Springs - 2-18-20

The window in my computer room looks out toward Strawberry Park. If I travel about 7 miles through the park, I arrive at the Strawberry Park Hot Springs:
The 140-degree hot springs water flows from the Earth and into a series of rock-hemmed pools beside a small creek. The stream cools the water to pleasant soaking temperatures typically in the 100- to 106-degree range.
Flagstone stairs and walkways provide access from the parking lot up topside to the soaking pools below. Years ago, the only changing room was a frigid teepee set up near the pools. Now, there’s a heated changing cabin partway down the steps.
Dan Leeth took the photos below; he typically visits in the winter so misses the beautiful garden that surrounds the hot springs in the spring and summer. Still, there's something enchanting about soaking in a hot springs surrounded by snow-covered trees!
