Yesterday I went for a walk on a frozen pond. Granite Lake is a beautiful place in the winter, and the ice on the pond is over a foot thick! Sometimes people go ice fishing here. I often enjoy a short walk on the ice with Sal and her dog Moxie. Moxie can run and run out on the snowy ice. I did not know that an eagle was watching us from a nearby tree. Moxie brings her yellow ball with her. Sal and I take turns throwing the ball for Moxie to chase after.
That day, a bald eagle swooped down near us, and Moxie tried to chase this big bird. What a beautiful sight it was! I have only seen a bald eagle a few times. Sal sees eagles often with her home on the lake. I wonder if the eagle was looking for a fish that a fisherman had left behind? Eagles have great eyesight and can see sigh from far away.
Once when I was hiking in Nevada, I saw a beautiful golden eagle. I came around a tree, high in the mountains of the Red Rock Canyon, and was the eagle, flying in front of me!
These photos are not my own. They are the product of a Google search, and I am not sure of the source. Still, they help keep the memories of what I've seen clearly in my mind.
