Friday - Whew, I guess we made it through the week, not sure but I think we did

Friday, February 21, 2020

Today was another challenging day! My new escape artist had a field day today, grabbing iPads and yanking on cords plugging them in, got into my normally locked closet, broke the hook to hang her coat and book bag on, and the list goes on. She never closed her eyes, never stopped babbling, and never stopped getting into things she isn't supposed to. She tried to escape again today several times and although showing no interest in the food, kept going to the fridge and holding the door open like a starving refugee - didn't take anything just hung on the door and held it open.

I had detention duty today and had 6 kids. They were all very quiet and nobody was acting up - no, actually the one 6th grader who has had detention almost every day that I have had the duty and most of the others as well, was annoying and deliberately disruptive, but the BIG difference today was that the other students were all 8th graders and they ignored his antics and he eventually quieted down about the time I was finished my duty.

No further updates on the medical issues, but I saw Lisa's 5 of Lisa's grandchildren and they all had a lost, forlorn look about them that begged for a HUG. Sadly, I am not close enough with them to embarrass them at school. Lisa thinks she may be back to school next week some time.

I am heading home soon and hope I will have a restful and uneventful weekend.

Be blessed and a blessing to others. Please keep those dealing with serious challenges in your prayers.
