February 25, 2020 - Where does time go?

Tuesday, February 25, 2020

I had hoped to blog more about this wellness journey. But I am lucky just to read the blogs that motivate and inspire me at SparkPeople. I am not cut out to be an 'inspirer'.

Today I prepare for week 3 starting tomorrow. Once again it is about eliminating foods that have qualities that 'inflame' the body. So added to my no processed sugars, no artificial sweeteners, no fruit juice, no caffeine, no gluten, no corn comes:
1) no dairy emoticon
2) no soy emoticon
3) no alcohol emoticon
4) no white potatoes emoticon
5) no grains emoticon

So continue to eat 2 servings of cooked vegetables at every meal and good healthy fats. Drink an unsweetened cranberry drink before every meal, 80 ounces of water a day, and 1-2 cups of bone broth. 50% of my calories are to be from good fats.

Today I intend to have a baked potato, some of my favorite cheese, a gluten-free tortilla, and prosecco. emoticon

Have I been perfect so far? No. I desperately ate a non grass-fed hamburger on an onion roll Saturday when visiting friends (I guess I could have eaten more potato salad then a tablespoon, but I didn't like it). One must survive. I woke up a little queasy the next morning.

I have had some dark chocolate twice...just a small amount. My chicken isn't pasture raised.

Here's what I have learned:

1) Sugar is addictive and stokes my appetite, less sugar = less appetite = less food

2) I feel full faster, since I am not gobbling down sugar, and eating good healthy fats like avocado, grass-fed meats and pasture raised eggs.

3) I am sleeping better

4) I am losing weight

All good things, now I need to launch into my videos for this week on the whats, whys and wonders of nutrition. And a walk, too. And some work.

An 'inspirer' you are. We all are. I'm glad that it is going well for you. Keep blogging I love hearing about what you are doing. I may need to go down the same road as you. (Hugs)

Dark chocolate, 95% cocoa, is pretty much a daily thing with me . . .

And: you are a constant source of inspiration for me . . . just your being. Nothing more required!!

Human biology is totally against sugar. Sugar raises some hormone levels while decreasing others. It results in a desire for more, and more.

Don’t you wish there were a hormone to make us want to eat healthy veggies more and more?

So, are you eliminating to reduce inflammation or lose weight or both?
Don’t get too restrictive or you may give up.

Yes, for sure, we can't expect perfection. Doesn't last.

    Good luck!
