The gray skies with little sun is EXACTLY why this winter has seemed so long to me! Even though we've gotten a lot of snow (I'm guessing we'll break over 300 inches this winter) I don't mind it as long as we get breaks between storms and the blue skies appear. I'm talking seriously with DH about getting out of town more next winter - somewhere we can see the GROUND! 40 days ago
I can commiserate with your blah. I lived in Indiana for many years and it seemed like it was 4 months of overcast, bone-chilling, wet slog. We moved to Colorado 5 years ago. One of the best things about Colorado is 300+ days of sun. I can handle the cold as long as the sun shines. However, there's always trade-offs. Today, we had winds gusting to 60mph and it's going to be zero tonight. I still took the dog out for a 1 mile walk, which was more than invigorating. I bought a used Wii and find it helpful to "recharge my batteries" when I'm stuck inside. Good luck.
