Day 57: So We Had Some Snow

Wednesday, February 26, 2020

"Live life and take chances. Believe that everything happens for a reason and don't regret. Love to the fullest and you will find true happiness in life. Realize that things go wrong and people change, but things do go on. Sometimes things weren't meant to be. What is supposed to happen will work its way out." (Author Unknown)

Hello, my lovely friends!

Okay, so yesterday I mentioned a lot of wind and no snow but that changed in the afternoon. It was really windy the night before and the morning it was some serious wind. We went about doing what we needed to do and we came out of the doctor’s office and it was snowing. It a pretty steady snowfall to with the winds blowing like crazy. That was some crazy weather, but that’s Colorado for you.

I was going to make chicken tortilla soup today, but it's Ash Wednesday and that's a no. I took out some beans from the freezer and we had tostadas, YUM! I know my mom is craving some coconut shrimp from Red Lobster and I know how to make that one. I’m having way too much fun on Pinterest finding recipes.

Is anyone thinking about spring cleaning yet? I would love to get everything done before the end of April. We’re going to call the guys that did the rocks in the backyard to do the front and take some grass away to make things easier for us. The problem is getting motivated to do those things because I’m lacking that right now. I get up and if my mom wants to have a lazy day I just cave to it. I always say that I can get so much done when she’s not around. She is taking that trip in the summer with my grandpa, aunt and uncle on the train and I’ll get lost done when she’s gone. However, I don’t want to wait until then to get things done. Last year I kept putting things off and look what happened? I didn’t get the decorations up for Halloween or Christmas because of time. I need to get the time thing in order. Maybe I need a schedule and treat it like a job. Ideas?

Have a great day and do something nice for yourself!

Spring cleaning! Yikes! It'll happen - or it won't :)
Yes, sounds like you need a plan. Regardless of how your mom schedules her day, you're not bound by that schedule. Make your own.

I agree with Nightskystar......make a list....mark off what you get done and

if necessary go make a new list and keep at it til you can mark all your want to do's off as done.

I can't say that I have started Spring cleaning. But I do know that we are having some guests in a few days for dinner. I will certainly be motivated to clean.

I like that and yes you do need a schedule. Take a calendar and mark your goals, such as get living room cleaned, put up Easter decorations, etc. Keep that calendar visible. Hubby has already made up his Spring schedule, and I have mine. I have projects that are not going to get done unless I do them. So that's that. Time is flying by and just look per you we are already 57 days into the year. Time to make the most of each day.

Tough sometimes to get all done, but such a sense of accomplishment when I do. Wishing you all the best and push to get things going for you, cause you are the only one who will get what you done, done.

We had fierce winds yesterday, too. Settled down now. Original prediction was for 6-11 oin. of snow. What did we get? A dusting. NO complaints.

I hope your Mom, Grandpa, Aunt & Uncle enjoy their train trip. Looking into a train trip for us, too.

HUGS and good luck w/the spring cleaning. Trying to get motivated to do that. Not my fav thing, but a necessity.

Sometimes I like to get lost in an on line book while the cleaning tasks get ignored. A clean house is a wonderful thing but it can be really hard to find the motivation to begin.

I make a list. First are the must dos, then the things I’d like to get done but aren’t urgent. 1 non urgent thing goes on the must list daily. I also put a time limit on cleaning big things. Like—I will work one hour on the attic. Then I know there’s an end to it, and most times I’ll do much more than the hour, it’s just getting started that’s the problem and the time limit makes that happen
