Retired 2/29/2020 for the 2nd time. Have kept busy with spring cleaning which I did start back in February. As of now have all cabinets, closets, dressers, china cabinet, and misc storage all cleaned and took a 4th load this week of recycling and Good Will stuff in earlier with my sister's and brother-in-law's help cos I had a lot today. She questioned how I got it all. Told her a lot was Mom giving stuff to me that I really didn't want or need, but I held on to it for 2-5 yrs before getting rid of it. Now just all the open air cleaning to finish and carpet cleaning. Then Mom wants me at her place.

Retirement party was last night. Had a great time visiting and catching up with everyone even though it'd only been 6 days. They are considering a clerk's position to enter all the sheriff warrants/protection orders etc into LEADS. Director said in a couple months if I'm bored to call her and she'd give me the job if they decide to create it cos I mentioned I really liked doing the entries. And I am actually considering it. It does not create the stress headaches that the law enforcement dispatch gave me.

Got caught up on the gossip. Of the 2 new hires that started Feb 23 1 is already gone. She didn't show up for 3 of her shifts and also did not call to say she wasn't. And got caught up on a possible lawsuit that may occur and as usual 911 will be dragged into it but it will be another case of sheriff failed to do their job. They chased a suspect and suspect jumped into the river in freezing temp and river high cos of recent rains and now suspect is missing. At no point did they request dive teams or boat search and rescue. And the family is questioning where is their relative.

I haven't got my steps in the last couple days but I was far enough ahead that I am still on track for the month. Have gotten my exercise in.

Congrats on your retirement. Just from reading your various blogs I have a feeling you will need something else to occupy your time. You are so much a go getter. Cleaning your house and your mom's place won't be enough for you. With weather getting nice again, I can imagine you will takes lots of hikes, perhaps an ocean vacation with family again. BUT once weather changes, I hope you remain busy then too. If the job they offered isn't too stressful, perhaps really consider it or maybe they would be willing to entertain the position as part time instead of 5 days. Then you can 'work your way to retirement" and really plan out adventures.

Good luck with it all. Wish you the best always.
