This morning I posted about getting an email for To Write Love on Her Arms's Annual Run For It 5K. twloha.com/runfo
The post has since disappeared. Whether I deleted it on accident or it violated some sort of rule I'm not aware of, I don't know.
I miss running. I think you've heard me say that a few times now. I mean, I know why I can't, and I know it's not forever, but the weather is warming up, I've been working out and I just want to run.
So, I was looking at this race earlier, it's on April 11. I will be 26 weeks pregnant on that day. I will still be working out 5 days a week. I will still be tracking nearly 10 miles a week. Why can't I walk a 5K? Where's the harm?
So, I've ordered my shirt, my bib and my finisher's medal and I'm doing it.
Then, two weeks later on the 25th of April (my 12th wedding anniversary!!) I'm going to be walking another 5K with the kids and my mom for our local Color Run.
I've done a few virtual runs with the gym I was part of until recently and they've been fun. You sign up, they send you a shirt, a bib and a finisher's medal and you track your "race" in a free app. And part of the money helps different charities.
Here's the link to one of the sites I'm going through: www.goneforarun.
I would love for you guys to join me in some of these runs (or walks, or rides).
I live in a small town and with 5 kids, travel can be hard, money can be tight, and schedules just don't always line up. What I love about these races is that I don't have to leave town. The times and with some of them even the dates, are flexible. And I still feel like I've accomplished something.
I will be doing at least two more of these virtual races before Baby comes in July. Also, I'll be doing the Alzheimer's 5K that happens locally on Thanksgiving Day and the gym I belong to does one, but I don't remember when that one is. We also have a Cancer Run/Walk/Ride I'm going to try to make it to.
My goal will be to try to do at least one 5K race a month in 2021.
