This is not a panic response, it's not an overreaction, it's a reality check! It is not a hoax or conspiracy.
The world is under seige from a highly transmittable virus COVID-19, that for many has deadly consequences, that presently has no treatment or vaccine. And the most likely way the virus is being spread is through physical contact.
We may think as individuals that we are not at risk, that if we get the virus we can get over it without any lasting effects, but what about the people we come in contact with, what if we spread it to others unknowingly. Therein lies the problem.
Right now, frequently washing our hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds each time/cleansing our hands with alcohol-based hand sanitizers and social distancing are the best ways we have of stopping the spread of this virus.
Social distancing is staying away from large gatherings, restricting unnecessary travel and keeping a distance of 6 feet or 2 meters - about one body length - away from other people. Social distancing also means not touching other people, and that includes handshakes.
"Social distancing can never prevent 100% of transmissions, but by following these simple rules, individuals can play a critical role in slowing the spread of the coronavirus. If the number of cases isn’t kept below what the health care system can handle at any one time - called flattening the curve - hospitals could become overwhelmed, leading to unnecessary deaths and suffering...
If the public as a whole takes social distancing seriously, overwhelming the medical system could be avoided. Much of how the coronavirus pandemic unfolds in the U.S. (and everywhere else for that matter) will come down to individuals’ choices."
We not only have a responsibility to ourselves, but to our fellow man as well!!!
