Happy St. Patty's Day!
My son loved St. Patty's Day! When he was in Kindergarten he walked into his school and there were green prints everywhere. Their class room was a mess and the teacher said leprechauns did it. So for days he and his friends made leprechaun traps. My mom use to find St. Patty's Day stuff in Dollar stores. He would head for school decked out from head to toe in St. Patty's Day stuff. As soon as he got to school, he shared his stuff with his classmates and I believe some of his classmates would keep his things which was fine because mom loved buying St. Patty's stuff for him! That is who my son is!
I did see a couple of St. Patty's Day movies on Disney plus I will be watching today for fun and wearing my St. Patty's Day head band!
Yesterday I choose to take care of me. I got up and showered. I put lotion on from head to toe. Later doing a laughing yoga-she had us put laughing lotion on from head to toe. I did my laundry and washed my sheets. Last night it was so wonderful to crawl into a bed with clean sheets, clean PJ, fluffy pillows all smelling so nice. And I still felt that lotion from head to toe. It was so wonderful!
I did try to look up John Adams and John Quincy Adams. I found a tour of their home done by Bob Villa. Upon entering their home, you have to remove your shoes before touring their home and no one is allowed upstairs. And a few shot snips of their graves. It's interesting how a lot of grave goes on you tube visit 'famous peoples' graves but not these 2 presidents. They are both buried in United First Parish Church in Quincy, MA. I may look up Thomas Jefferson today.
My son actually got 'real' with me. One of his teachers told them he wanted one face-to-face day with the class this week, if they don't show up, they will flunk the class. As of yesterday, the teacher had not contacted them. He said the class members are all still on campus waiting! He also said he will be home for spring break but there is more room where he is and he will be more motivated to do his online classes where he is. Then a ruling come from the college. The rest of the semester is to be done online. They are still deciding on how to do dorm check outs and graduation. Then I saw where a student is asking the college to hold graduation out in a park since they already have spend $90 on their cap and gown!
I am reading a book called 'The Courage to Heal'. I am a survivor of Abuse. I am on the 3rd section which is moving on after the healing which is where I am. The chapter I read yesterday made these suggestions and I am only sharing these in case it's useful to anyone. A) Make a list of things you are good at including frying an egg. B) Take mental note of the positive things people tell you about yourself. C) Make your own choice (all ready doing that)
Happy St. Patty's Day!
