DIY hand sanitizer: rubbing alcohol substitues and recipies

Thursday, March 19, 2020

For the short term, I'm going to share some DIY tips here that have run across my feeds that you might find handy. I'm picking the easiest recipes to follow. I'll update when a new once comes across my feed. I by no means mean to fear-monger.

Hand Sanitizer:

Aloe gel or vegetable glycerin

rubbing alcohol or ethyl alcohol (Everclear vodka or grain alcohol that is 151 proof or 70% by volume.)

tea tree oil, lavender oil or lemon juice (optional this is just for scent)

container like a soap pump for the aloe mix or a spray bottle if you use glycerin

Mix 1 part aloe or glycerine to 2 parts alcohol.

If you'd like to hear it from someone more adult than I am, follow this youtube link:

I heard that your rubbing alcohol should be 90%. A lot of people are making their own. Thanks for the recipes. Zero calories, I see! ;-)
