All is as Good as it Can Be

Thursday, March 19, 2020

Hubby and I are good. We are both working from home now until whenever. We are only going out to get food or for exercise.
We use to eat out a lot but obviously no longer and I must admit that I am a bit paranoid about getting take out so I have been cooking up a storm.
I have my menu board (on the fridge) and have listed the meals for the week.
I recently purchased a new stove and really love it. As it turns out, the timing was good.
Hopefully I won't gain any weight by the time this is over.

Keeping up my exercise and water too. Keeping in touch with friends and family - they are all old timers emoticon

Talked to the nurse yesterday and my uncle is good.

We continue on..............

    Diane,

I am glad things are ok for you. And thank you for commenting on my own blog last week.

My husband has been laid off from his job because of the virus (I am just saying. Honestly not looking for sympathy). He works for a small company that provides detergents and leases/services washing machines and dryers to gyms, restaurants, hotels, health clubs, and nursing homes. Even though the nursing homes are still running, the other business has gone to zero. So there is no revenue coming in. He expects to be recalled when things reopen. But who knows how long that will be and if they will actually do so if this lasts for a long time (say, more than two months).

At least I am comfortable situated in my WFH gig. Today the weather was very nice, so we took a walk in a local park. Lots of people there, but not so many to have a problem with social distancing. Yesterday I took a walk by myself in the neighborhood around 5:00, and there was definitely more foot traffic than usual. We came back from the park around the same time today, and I noticed the extra people again.

Two things I can see forever changing are more people working from home (at least some of the time) and less eating out. We eat out a lot too, and it is not a great habit. I can't say that I miss it since being forced to prepare all my meals at home. My 31 year old son claims that many people of his age eat out all the time. I wonder how many people have bought a coffee pot for the first time. The only Starbucks by me that is open is a drive-thru.

Great about the stove!! Enjoy it.

    Great about the new stove!!

All is as good as it can be and you got a new stove too. I hope it is a gas stove. We have a gas stove and love it. It heats up quickly and when it is off it is off and no danger of heat lingers.

Be good. Stay healthy and enjoy your home cooking. We had gone out to eat a lot before as well.
