My Adventures in Spark Land...Day 232: Day 6 of the shut day

"Make today beautiful'.

emoticon I am really not much of a gal who enjoys listening to the news but I started watching/listening to Mr President's press conference's daily and also going to the state-by-state update page. I keeping hearing from these daily press conferences that they are asking up for 15 day lock down and social distancing to slow down the virus. So I keep wondering what day we are on. Yesterday they said day 6 so today must be day 7 which helps me a lot. I know it is almost at the half way point. After 15 days they will be able to determine the next steps easier. My son heads back on day 13.

emoticon My son is going into Ag Engineer. There are 10 that will be done in May. There are 3 focus under that degree. His focus is natural-solar power, etc. All 10 have to be in this class called CAP STONE. They do projects, etc according to their focus. There are 3 focus on solar power. One is a girl from Milwaukee. She was living in the dorms. She and several others moved into a house on some farm the college owns. Milwaukee area is getting hit the hardest with the virus so she doesn't want to go home anyhow. She's the one that always emails the teachers when she feels things are not right. She has been doing that for this CAP STONE class. They are still waiting to hear the teachers response. In the meantime, she emailed the group and apologized for not working on the project yesterday. My son went home. The 3rd member who is also my son's house mate, has parent's who are close to 60. They wanted him to come home. I want my son home too. In today's world, parent's want their kids near. He was refusing to go home. Well he went home since my son went home. I told my son, I bet his parent's are so happy he finally came home. My son bit off my head and said I didn't know that. I am not sure what was going on there but seriously I can't believe any parent would not be happy to see their kid in today's world. His house mate was upset he had to help his parent's with the spring cleaning!

emoticon My son and I went Friday to my parent's former house which is 7 miles from me on a small lake. We did some more decluttering. Yesterday my married brother and son came to help. My parent's for some reason kept all our toys so it has been a royal pain. We have thrown bags of old broken toys. The last 2 days I have gone through my dolls. I honestly do not remember any on them! It has been almost 50 years since I even saw them. My son and nephew we teasing me about these creepy old dolls! They were not cared for so they looked like something out of scary movies all dirty with white eyes. My brother was able to throw things that he felt was creepy as a kid. It was so funny talking about these things and my nephew who is always so quit and straight faces laughing so hard at us.

emoticon My son and I watched the new lion king movie and the new star girl movie on Disney plus. I had so many mixed feelings about star girl. The 'type 1' in me loved some of it. But my son who was in a funky mood thought the whole things was odd and felt bad he even suggested watching it.

Well we are all tense, it sounds natural that your son might be a little touchy. I miss some of my toys today, and as an adult I feel that's funny! My cat is like a real life stuffed animal, i don't need any other "toys". emoticon

Very sad you have such a mess w/your parents' house, but good you're doing it.

I HOPE your DS doesn't go back. I just fear he'll be stuck if ther'es a stay in place order. But one step @ a time.

    Stay safe, stay well.

Enjoy the time with DS. It seems, for all of us, it's a one-day-a-time way of life. We have new orders issued this morning limiting gatherings to 10 people, stay at home, all restaurants take out only. So many big changes in the past 2 weeks. Your state may issue orders that will force DS to stay in place. A mixed blessing, I guess.

Be well. Stay safe. emoticon emoticon

It is sad when we have to go through old things after our parents die. I had to do the same thing years ago. Enjoy your time with your son.
