A "bonus day" out...
Wednesday, March 25, 2020
I had planned to take today off from running given we were forecast both rain and wind, with 40ish temps. Then I decided I can't take EVERY rainy day off during our isolation mode when I don't have a gym available, so I decided to gear up and at least get out for a mile or two for practice at dealing with minor inconveniences.
The joke was on me as it was actually quite pleasant with either no rain or, in the last miles, just a very fine bit. And the wind was more than tolerable.
And, one or two miles turned into 6.5 miles, just like that... I plan to take a new approach of looking at the overall week rather than just one day (for eating/calories in, for workouts/calories out, for overall running miles, for overall completion of strength training workouts, etc.), but the corollary to that is "run when you can!" So I banked a few miles and calories toward an even less pleasant running day.
And I completed a project for work, so it's been a productive day.
Note, running after all doesn't mean I get to skip upper body workout #2 for this week later on today. I still have plans for that. And posture exercises, since I also really need to get back to doing those regularly.
Grey rainy days are also enjoyable when you're looking out on them... which I will continue to do as I move on to something else to do for work.
Positive thoughts to all who need them, and my gratitude to all who deserve it!
