Work social hour... And getting the workout done...

Yesterday's "Friday Social Hour" video chat with about 10 folks from my group at work was surprisingly enjoyable. We hail from diverse locations - Omaha, CT, NJ, NY, Philly - and we don't see each other than often (a few from Omaha, I've never met but only talked to by phone) even in the normal course of things, but in this period where everybody (even the ones who normally don't) is working from home and in enforced isolation, it was nice to reach out and see everybody, put new faces to what had previously been just names and voices, chat about nothing to do with work (an inordinate amount of time seemed to be spent on toilet paper and bidets, for instance), and laugh a lot. It was nice. I hope we'll repeat it as the isolation continues. It was scheduled for an hour, but we hung on for 90 minutes before calling it a day (evening).
This morning I took my time getting out of bed as I had already planned to take a day off from running (yesterday gave me 5 days for the week and checked all of my weekly goals), but then I decided to knock out the strength training early. Since it's a day with no other workout, I opted to do all 3 in one (upper body, lower body, core) to give me 3 workouts of each of those for the week.
It's been a good week for health and fitness - I stayed within (even below the low end some days) my calorie range every day, I met - and sometimes surpassed - all of my weekly fitness goals, I've doing more meditative breathing, and my weight is staying good. And I got in some unexpected extra social time with the work group conference. I've chatted - and even talked voice - with my brother more than usual and my sister some (it can be hard to nail her down to a time that fits both our schedules). M has started playing DOOM Eternal and while I don't have those gaming instincts I used to and haven't tried it yet, I've been enjoying watching him and commenting and giving ideas (try this, try that, look there, LOOK OUT, DUCK, FIRE, etc.).
Hopefully the trend will continue - and hopefully things will get better "out there" for all those who need some good luck coming their way more than I do.
Positive thoughts to all who need them; and my gratitude to all to who I owe it!
