It's the little things

Tuesday, March 31, 2020

Another day of sunshine which definitely puts a smile on my face! After lunch we decided to go to Walgreen's to pick up a prescription at the drive through window. it wasn't ready so we drove into town and just drove around. Actually a very good break in the day. Here in Stuart, FL (Martin County) we "only" have 28 cases and businesses are still open except for those the governor has closed. Have to say a lot of places were closed anyway which is good IMO.

We decided to get ice cream and went through the McDonald's drive through and had a soft vanilla cone. Absolutely delicious and at only 170 calories a real treat.

As we all make our way through days that are more different than we could ever have imagined it is the little things that can make a positive difference.

tonight my brother and his wife will drive over in their golf cart and we'll have cocktail hour in the driveway. Social distancing at it's best.

What are the little things that are making your days brighter?

    The little things here too!!

Henry deciding to sit on DH's lap this morning, tail wagging gaily at the humour of it all.

Hearing the peregrine falcon in the forest just before dawn.

The sun is pouring through the east windows.

I can smell fresh coffee from the kitchen!!

It's great that you have family close by. I know you are practicing distancing, but at least you can still see and talk to your brother and sister in law. We are keeping in touch by phone and texting. Not the same but for now it will have to do.

I'm glad you have sunshine to fill your day. Let me tell you up here it has been nothing but rain, grey skies, and wind. Not fun at all. The rest of this week the temps should get better, but not sure about having any sunshine. If we do get nice weather I know I will definitely get outside and take advantage any way I can. I have some clean up to do in our flower beds, but it's still too wet and muddy. Will be different this year for planting I think. I'm hoping we will be able to buy plants for our beds this year. We shall see.

Take care and have a great week. Send Mr. Sunshine up here to Michigan okay? Tell him we miss him. emoticon

My favorite walk is to the bridge and back. I get to see the Gulf and the back bay. With all the spring breakers gone it is very peaceful. Of course I still can't figure out where all the TP and antibacterial soap is!! Enjoy your get together with your brother and SIL.

-chatting with my 92 year old neighbour who was wheeling her stove's ash can down to the ditch along the road, she is a trooper and fortunately not hard of hearing so we didn't have to shout at each other.
