This is Tess--born in Sept. 2011---We purchased her from a kennel in Toronto.
She flew into Sudbury on Air Canada--just the cutest wee ball of fur ever!
We had Coal at the time, (who has since passed on----replaced with Beau)-
Tess absolutely adored Coal--never ever really bonded with big Beau, our present male Shepherd---
However, at 2 yrs of age, Tess picked up Blastomycosis, a fungal pneumonia----just a terrible thing--
They told us that she breathed the spores in from who knows where-
It cost us a small fortune, but after 7 mos and so much heart ache, she got over rt--still has lung damage however---
Since then, Beau has chewed her ears--- more surgery--and again another surgery on her ACL on her hind leg--
so now--knowing her history--I panic when she doesn't eat--- when she lies on the living room in the evenings panting--
So, Tess and I ----- well, we decided---- that if I can keep her alive and well, till summer, that she can get to her very most favourite thing in the whole world---- SWIM IN THE LAKE_---
-and come fall, if her body tells her it's time to visit her pal , Coal, I will accept that---
SHE HAS PERKED UP---- Yesterday and to-day, I noted a new spring in her step--
We both walked with our new attitude to the highway---
And that is the good news---
BUT____There is bad news----
This A.M., I --got on the scales---
--AND-----Lord love Duck!---- I have GAINED 4 POUNDS----
--So, that has to be taken care of--- immediately! -----
It's "Hokey Pokey" time-----AGAIN!
