This is our last Sunday in Florida
and have mixed feelings about it. We have loved it here even with the Covid-10 restrictions. We can get outside and walk anytime we want and have had no trouble getting deliveries of food (and wine!) so we haven't had to leave the property. Fletcher loves it especially his backyard.
OTOH I miss our other home and look forward to getting back. It won't be the same that's for sure. We also have to get to our lake house and get it cleared out for the June 1 closing. We are renting it for June so have some time to do all that. and we are leaving almost all the furniture so don't have to figure out what to do with that. Makes it easy.
Leaving the lake will be bittersweet. We bought the house in 2000 have have loved it. A real sanctuary when we were both working in NYC. But life changes and I'm looking forward to just being home and not packing up every weekend. We'll miss our friends there and hope we can find spots midway for lunches or dinners. And when the city opens, dinner in the city....imagine that will be awhile!
We have out hotels booked and AAA assures me that the hotels are really cleaning the rooms. We have Lysol cleaner and plenty of hand sanitizers along with masks and gloves. will pack travel food just in case. Will take every precaution to stay safe.
Rain on and off today and that's fine as I like to take Sunday as a rest day. And thinking with love of my mother on this special day.
Life is all about change and we've certainly had our share this year.
