Better week on the horizon

Sunday, May 17, 2020

Annnnnd, just like that it's Sunday again, the last day of my week, not the calendar beginning of the next. I still live in the traditional work-week mode.

This has been a strange mix of isolating, working to a sweat, hibernating and visiting.
I shopped well and spread some of that food to family well-distanced. I got what I needed for my garden while following the taped arrows and "stand here" markers provided by my local discount store.

Enjoyed some nice weather. Finally!

All but one of my green babies succumbed to the weather. They were indoors for too long. It was in the low 30's for several nights then I planted them the day the sun warmed us to 88! The poor plants could not take the changes.I saved seeds so planted new outside, and purchased fully formed replacements.

Throughout this past week I've finally gotten over myself and curbed my eating enthusiasm. The scale has stayed in an uncomfortable high range for two months and I'm hoping my nerves allow me to ditch those pounds I've been trying to loose. It dawned on me that part of my problem was lack of exercise and NOT cutting the calories. I do (did) work out quite a bit and was always on the move. Lock-down nerves and not cutting things from my diet...ok, I added some bad things... cause my weight to creep up 5 pounds.

Here's to hoping the gym opens soon or the weather warms up my pool so I can get exercise. My knee is terminally unhappy with my 1-2 mile walks that don't get my HR elevated. The weather forecast is not conducive to outdoor activities most of the week so I'll have to be content with repairing some ceiling issues and painting the darned thing!

A rabbit stole a tomato plant, the rest are hanging tough. Someone covered the plants each night the temps dipped...a sea of t-shirts. It wasn’t me, but you could guess that. Ha. Life today is unlike anything we’ve ever experienced. Patience matter, so does tough love. The pandemic diet hasn’t helped anyone, creeping pounds are a pervasive problem. I refuse to settle for that. Last week I sent Miss Behaving packing. Mrs. On It in the house. I’m sending her your way.

Yup lockdown nerves is right!!! Amazing how sneaky 'covid comfort concoctions' are agile enough to jump into the grocery cart. Getting more used to putting them back on their shelves.

Here's to a good new week.

Gloomy here. But with the leaves out and flowering trees it's nice and I'm not going to complain at all.

Have a great week! emoticon emoticon

Are you a believer in the "balance" theory of weight loss/gain? OK, you got your eating under wraps... mine's slipped the past couple of days! Yep, if I wanted to find someone to blame... emoticon

Nope, gotta check out the woman in the mirror for that! emoticon

We can do this. ODAT! emoticon

Lock-down nerves! That names it perfectly!
I'm on my way out to do some gardening before the sun comes around and it'll get too hot.
Hope your day will be magical.
