First Day of my Journey.

I have been following Sadghuru and his teachings about two years now, and really i feel like his beautiful words have helped me so much. I am currently 272 lbs and not anywhere near a healthy weight to be able to practice the intense yoga or mindfulness exercises that are taught. So i am going to try hard at my own pace to get there.

Today we (my 9 year old daughter and i) started walking. The heat was intense but we decided to give it a go. We decided 30 minutes a day for the first bit to ease us into the walks. We set a timer and walked for 15 minutes, then walked back. We looked at where we were and took mental note of it, so tomorrow our goal is to get just a little farther. It ended up being 2.16km! We live in a small town so we mapped out a large path of 6km round trip as our end goal, and we want to be able to walk it in 1 hour. Then of course eventually we will increase to running or other higher level activities.

I think the most important thing for making changes for you life is baby steps! Changing one thing at a time rather then jumping in all at once. I want to be able to stick to it and not get discouraged if i slip back a bit.

I am also trying to really get in my head that our body needs good nutritious food. And i want to encourage myself to make the right choices when it comes to food. If we keep putting poison in our bodies.... how can we ever expect to get well?
