The blue bird

Saturday, May 30, 2020

Good morning friends...yesterday I had a heavy heart most of the day...but you already know that. I worked and ate, first midday meal was a burger with caramelized red onion, finlandia light swiss cheese, lettuce from my garden, beefsteak tomato with maple bacon aioli on homemade sourdough naan bread. I snacked on fresh watermelon and frozen grapes throughout the day...I sat in the lounge chair in the yard as the cool breeze brushed across my face and the birds flew about without a care in the world and words started forming in my mind...I shared those words on my personal fb page and connect. Dinner was sushi. Late nicer snack a bowl of black raspberry ice cream with light cool whip and crumbled chocolate pizzelle. I also walked 1 1/2 miles in a half a$$ed fashion.

I'm sharing my words again because that was the most important part of my day.

The bluebird
I sat in silence enjoying the view
I saw a Robin, a swallow and a bluebird too.

On the arms of the wind the birds flew by
And then I saw out of the corner of my eye

The robin seemed to beckon, hey lady look my way.
I know it sounds crazy but he had something to say.

Beware of the bluebird, he's very bad
I said oh really and asked what proof he had.

Look at that color. He's trouble for sure..
I pressed him, come on there has to be more

Tell me please. What exactly did he do?
All the bad things, don't you see he is blue?!

I said little bird I dont believe you
I will not fear the bird that is blue

Yet he persisted...You must believe every word I say
I know this for sure it's what my father said every day

One day it will happen you'll see I'm right
Start to hate now so you're prepared for the fight.

I said. I've seen the bluebird. I know these are lies
He sat on my fence. I looked into his eyes

He has my respect. He's done nothing wrong
I refuse to listen to your terrible song.

Stop telling lies and quit spreading fear
Take yourself Robin and fly far away from here

My story sounds ridiculous wouldn't you say?
Yet people learn to hate, the very same way.

I along with my son and daughter in law and our families will teach Ryder to love and respect all the birds and the people, especially the people.

Have a great day...would you walk a MILE with me? #bethechange #spreadthelove

Beautiful! Hate is something learned, sadly. Why is that so? We are the same -- different ethnicities, different colors of skin, different languages, different POV's, but underneath it all, we have the same blood, we bleed the same!

    Love "Your Words"

Yes hate is taught; so are love & ambivalence

    We are born... clean slates..

Thanks for this. Plenty to change here , and feeling more helpless to do anything. All activity here has been eclipsed by the guidelines and restrictions.
