Two year spark anniversary yesterday.

Thursday, June 04, 2020

My 2 year spark anniversary was yesterday. I was so busy it was bedtime before I even realized it. It was to have been the date I met my goal. Did not make it so I just extended the time. My plan derailed the past few months but I am getting back on track.

Went to urgent care yesterday for the fall I had in March. Finally have had it with all the pain. The PA said I have AC joint damage and degenerative disc disease which is not new. It has been aggravated from my recent falls. It was first discovered after an auto accident in 2012. She advised to just get used to it, it isn't getting any better and the pain will only get worse til I can't use my arm at all She recommended muscle relaxant would help but wouldn't prescribe. Prescribed a week of anti-inflammatory. Didn't phase her that I've been taking for past 3 months and it hasn't helped. And recommended going to orthopedist with the comment he wouldn't be able to do anything. I was really down last night after this. Woke this morn and made appt with ortho. Let him decide that my shoulder is a lost cause instead of a PA. Mom started putting down my current chiro cos it's been 3 months and I still have pain. Had to remind her in 2012 I was going to chiro 3 X a week for 3 months and over period of a year got down to 1 X a week.

Did more gardening today and went and got more hostas and got them planted. Wanted to do hydrangea but right now is not the season to plant. Last year when I planted them at this time they were a failure. In fall I intend to do some lilies and irises.

Hope your emoticon was nice. Sending prayers that your pain goes away and you have healing. I hope the Ortho doctor can help you as well. Stay strong and keep pushing but take good care of yourself too.

I hope that the ortho can help. Maybe give you a cortisone injection.

I do hope you find some relief. I was in worsening pain for a couple of years and my primary refused to send me to ortho because "it's arthritis and there is no cure; they can't help you". Changed PC's and got an immediate referral - I desperately needed a total hip replacement. You definitely need to see an expert.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope you get some help from the orthopedist. They are more specialized so he/she should be able to give you better information, I think.

You can do it! I have been on here 4 years on and off. About a year ago I was unable to do anything, lower back issues, bad knees, and feet pain, lost 20 lbs with diet, now able to do 30 min low impact cardio. Slow, but never quit.

How do you stay/get back on track when you’re not “feeling it.”
