Still living life.. None of my close friends nor family have contracted COVID-19, so I'm very grateful for that. Fully employed, so I can pay my bills for the most part :o)

2 weeks ago, I decided to take a mini-vacation with my 3 kids. We stayed at a hotel with a water park and activities. I think people were pretty good about social distancing, but kids get excited to play in the water so they got close. All of the workers at the hotel, restaurants and stores that we stopped at had masks and most wore gloves. The hiccup to the trip was that someone decided to throw a rock at a window in my vehicle while I was parked at the hotel. It took over a week for the replacement window to come in - I have a Ford Explorer, aka the most popular vehicle for police (can you imagine the number of damage police vehicle windows out there right now). Hotel won't pay for the damage, so I'm out $370. My insurance deductible is $500 :o(

I had my annual doctor's visit last week. My TSH was tested and I'm above the normal range. It had been on the high end for the past 2 tests. The nurse actually asked me if I was actually taking my medication at all. Now I have a higher dosage, so I hope that kicks in soon. I've gained 30 pounds in the past year and my blood pressure is up. I definitely feel older than I've felt in a long time. I really need to get serious about making my health a priority.

Thank you for reading and take care!

Karen, I am on your side to take your health seriously. Statistically, it is one of the most effective motivations people can have to change their eating permanently, though we also know that plenty of people are more willing to live with the consequences than face down losing the pleasure of overeating. I believe you will experience more total pleasure in life when you are feel very confident that you are safe from risky eating, even if it's unpleasant in the moment to say not to food whims. Being a mom, you certainly have good incentive to be sure you can take care of them the way you'd be happiest with!

If you think I can be of help, don't hesitate to be in touch.
