A lovely day!

Sunday, June 21, 2020

The National Trust have started opening up their houses and gardens, with new systems for social distancing, and ticketed entries. I was fortunate to get a ticket for Trengwainton this afternoon (and I'm going again tomorrow with my friend). The sun came out and there were only a handful of people in the gardens. I guess once the holiday-visitors start coming again it'll be harder to get a ticket! I sat in the sun for about 15 mins, just listening to the birds and enjoying the lush greenery.

So - a few photos of things that caught my eye.

the beautiful view from the top of the garden, where the house sits looking over the bay

part of the 'stream garden' that runs from the top to the bottom of the garden

and a very happy ME!

My brother and sister-in-law live in the South-East, and they haven't been able to get tickets for their two local National Trust places (Sheffield Park and Chartwell) - they are much larger venues, and the catchment area for visitors is much larger than my local one.
