Photos from a lovely place

This morning, despite the fog and rain, I walked 5k to get to St Michael's Mount for a timed-ticket visit to the fabulous garden there. I met up with a friend and her hubbie. It was well worth the visit, and worth getting soaked for! They only open the garden on a few occasions to prevent erosion.

the walk there - along the coastal cycle/footpath

and onto the beach as the tide was going out

the Mount in the mist!

you walk across a causeway to get to the island. The garden is built on a steep slope

there are a lot of succulents

then 5k walk home.......... I got soaked to the skin - coat, bag, shoes, everything absolutely drenched! I'm really, really tired now.

If you'd like to read more about the garden - here's the link

[I've already booked a ticket for my next visit - hopefully it'll be a nicer day and I can stay for a picnic on the beautiful Laundry Lawn - which is that green expanse on the left of the island - photo from the website]
