Another day, another project

Sunday, July 05, 2020

I keep looking to get things done that would drive me nuts the next two months while I'm not supposed to do all those things.
Like removing the broken caulking around the toilet and re-caulking the floor. Frequent scrubbing loosened it and eventually there were pieces of silicone poking out! It didn't bother DH but it bothered me. Sooooo, yesterday I cleaned the walls, toilet and floor and then proceeded to "hug" the toilet to get the caulk removed using a putty knife and a utility knife. Fingernails. Anything!
Done.
My hands smelled like bleach for half the day.

My dear man has been loosing more of his dexterity over the past year and some days are very frustrating. He's even more frustrated watching me do these types of chores although I'm not nominating him for any kind of sainthood. I had to call him on my cell phone as he opted to watch TV instead of being my assistant. He learned better by the time I hung up two rooms away!

Good to know that too much scrubbing around the toilet can loosen the caulking! Who knew! .... 🤔...I hope your day goes smooth!

Did you hear the big chuckle coming from the NW?? that was me when I reached the last two sentences of this blog... perhaps it wasn't as funny IRL but it made me laugh! emoticon

Do ya think your cleaning frenzy is a biological response to your upcoming surgery... kinda like pre-birth nesting??? Now take a day or two to rest up!! emoticon

You phoned him?! Okay, older dogs, different tricks. Kids would text, ha. Way to get stuff done. Dexterity is a legit concern, strengthening those muscles is clutch. Not sure the TV remote counts. My Dad thinks so.

Sending virtual squeezes, and healing thoughts your way. Are you a good patient? I’m 100% compliant, that makes a world of difference. Still...

    Be well...take care, chica.

DH was apologetic the other day when he took care of something that bothered him more than me. I was pleased he took care of something!
    We learn.
Only a couple more days to prioritize those projects and get them done! Then I would highly recommend blinders.

It's so funny: the particular thing that bothers one of us doesn't bother the other of us AND vice versa so to speak!! Oh well oh well oh well.

Your method works . .. going ahead and doing it: providing you can AND providing you get timely assistance on demand AND providing you gets lots of admiration and thanks for doing what you do!! (I'm guessing HE wants admiration and thanks for doing what HE does too!!)

It didn't bother DH but it bothered me. OOMG ... I need to remember this. If it bothers me ... just take care of it already.

LOL. My hubby is outside working in the garden and I approve. I know sometimes sick people need to lick their wounds but I don't expect people to get used to it, I don't do it.

I am envisioning that phone call in my mind.... hmmmmm!

Laundry day here. Masks in hot water with dry on high heat... finding things that will handle that treatment to wash with them is always fun, and it keeps the ties from tangling themselves the more pillow cases, or towels, or whatever I can toss in that load.

May your Sunday be calm and restful... close eyes to any of those projects that might drive you nuts!
