Getting Rid of Invasive Plants

Tuesday, July 07, 2020

I am becoming a real nature girl. Despite the heat index of 100, I went out with plenty of water and took down 60 saplings. My buddy, Billie, stayed right with me but she was chasing scents and finding ticks.

My goal is to make sure that I pace myself when I am outside--taking lots of breaks, and quitting before I am overly hot and tired.

Tonight I patted myself on the back. Even though the calorie chart said I could have another 500 calories, I went out with a friend and just ordered an unsweetened ice tea. I am not feeling hunger--probably because of all I am drinking. I am hoping that the workout during the day is turning into muscle since the scale isn't moving. It's almost time to take measurements again. The clothes are fitting well.

As a final post: I felt so honored to be Top Dawg today in the Summer 5% challenge. As I get into this challenge, I am enjoying the camaraderie. Still not sure of all the ins and outs and reporting, but I will catch up.

The scale will move, I am sure of it! In the meantime, you are getting more and more fit.

Took the kitties on a kitty walk around the apartment today. Or rather, they watched ME go on a kitty walk dragging a string of yarn around behind me while I marched around. They only attacked it when it went by them. Lazy kitties! But I at least got some exercise.

And I gave them a good combing this morning. Every time I have tried in the evening lately, someone has started setting off fireworks outside in the parking lot. That spooks the kitties, and they run away. So I decided to change up the schedule. They were in heaven!

Have a great day, Top Dawg!

Wow - 60 saplings is a lot of work! I'm pulling May tree saplings as they spring up ALL OVER but we don't have the heat like you do and it's definitely muscle building! emoticon I enjoy flower gardening too and am wondering what the flowers are below the purple petunias in the picture? I really like the leaves on them. Have a fantastic day and stay cool! emoticon
