Day 69: Little by Little

Wednesday, July 08, 2020

emoticon I'm starting to get there little by little. I haven't accomplished everything yet but I'm starting to make some progress towards my goals. I got a good start anyway. I'm doing my best right now and taking some small steps in the right direction each day.

emoticon Nutrition: I've started planning and tracking all of my food again and I know where I need to cut calories now. I've got a good plan for eating healthy and I'm going grocery shopping emoticon this afternoon so I should get more healthy food. My calorie range has also been lowered to 2,240 - 2,590.

emoticon Fitness: I have gotten a pretty good start on fitness. I did my 30 minute chair exercises yesterday and did some laundry and cleaning around the house and worked up a sweat. I have a lot to do today as well. I want to organize Fritzy's toys and do some organizing in the kitchen. I also have core exercises to do today.

emoticon Water: I have yet to get started really with drinking actual water but have been drinking a lot of sparkling water. We don't have any soda here, just sparkling water and Powerade and orange juice.

emoticon Cigars: I haven't been buying cigars, just smoking what I have left and plan to spend the money I have left for this month on treating Fritzy at Dairy Queen today. I used the rest of my money the other day on cat food and air fresheners and allergy pills and most of my money this month went on a lot of toiletries we needed and I got us a fan that spritzes water since it's been so hot out which Fritzy really enjoys. Plus of course I got a bunch of dog and cat treats for our pets. So money better spent than on cigars.

emoticon Meditation: Was going to meditate last night but was just too tired. So hoping to meditate sometime today.

emoticon Sleep: Sleep has been good. Even when I say I'm going to stay up super late I end up going to bed because I'm just too tired and I end up getting the sleep I need.

emoticon Motivation: My motivation today is really planning and tracking my meals, going grocery shopping and getting healthy food, cooking healthy meals, and staying within my new calorie range. I am really motivated about food right now and excited to start making progress with this.

emoticon Non-Scale Victory: My nonscale victory lately is starting to track my food again. I was really off track with that for a while and now I'm starting to get in the swing of it again. The calories may not always add up perfectly, but at least I'm doing it again and starting to learn from it either way.

emoticon Writing: I'm actually thinking about working on that science fiction story I had started a while back and trying to finish it and send it to Asimov's. It seems like a worthwhile pursuit anyway. I may have to try to give it a look sometime this week/weekend.

emoticon Healthy Coping: We got a new shower head that detaches with a cord so now I can take more relaxing showers which should help me to destress more. Like I said above, I also got 2 new kinds of air fresheners, which also help me relax.

So that's all for now. More later! emoticon emoticon

Tracking calories is my least favorite part of this journey, but I think it does help.

Sounds like you are back on track. We seem to spend a lot of money on allergy pills too ( and trying to find one that works)...this has been such a bad spring. Enjoy that new shower head! Hugs, Kat
