Today I had planned to meet a friend for a walk, and donate blood.
My friend let me know yesterday evening that her family were descending on her three days early, so she couldn't meet up with me. And at midday I got a text from the blood donation service to say that the session was cancelled due to Covid19.
I'd been out this morning to get a few groceries - it was busy in town. So I didn't much feel like going out for a walk.
But the sun came out, and I realised that my lunch plans were transportable - so I made myself a picnic, and went out and found a quiet, sunny place to sit on the grass for an hour.
Getting there meant negotiating people, but once there, I was on my own. A local place that people don't seem to frequent much. They've let the wildflowers grow in lush drifts and have mown the grass around them. It was really relaxing.
On the walk home I managed to find a less-populated route - it's a game, isn't it?!
