Working the weekend

Sunday, July 12, 2020

I got up at 11 and had an omelette with chicken, mild cheddar, mushrooms and onions. It was so yummy and filling. Before work I took my son Adam to the gym to sign him up on my family account. I walked on the treadmill both Thursday (30 minutes) and Friday (55 minutes). Friday night I also used a weight machine that worked my back muscles. I need to figure out a time that works for me so I can be consistent about going to the gym. At work one of my residents was very upset. It's her birthday and because of Covid restrictions we couldn't allow her son, who drove over an hour to visit with her, to stop by and wish her a happy birthday. She was so upset. She is one of the few people I take care of who follows all the rules and never complains. She was crying. I couldn't bear it. It's her birthday for crying out loud! So I called my boss at home and ok'd a special visit. Unfortunately her son had already headed back home. He promised to come back tomorrow. She was so happy she was crying again. I teared up too. I hope everyone is having a safe and enjoyable weekend. Keep Sparking

I love my residents. I make it my mission to make their lives a little better. I hope someone is doing the same for your Aunt.

First, good for you for working on your health and going to the gym! That's so important! Every little step helps. Second, I'm so glad you could help your resident. It has to be so hard for our older folks who are trapped inside homes and can't go out and can't see their families. I know it's very hard for my Aunt who is 88. She misses everyone so much.
