Why do I always set unrealistic goals?

So part of me likes to set a really big goal so I can hit a bigger percentage of it like for example if I only set to lose 5 pounds a month I may only end up losing 2 or 3. But if I set to lose 15 pounds a month I'll end up losing 7 to 10. Does anybody else work this way?
